Windom Elementary is starting a chess club on Thursdays!!

Because of overwhelming response, we will start a second club on Thursday after school. The chess club will be taught by National Master William Harrison of West Chess and we will meet in the cafeteria on Thursdays  from 4:05- 5:35. starting on Nov 6. West Chess is dedicated to the instruction and appreciation of the game of chess. Chess club is a fun time for new and experienced players grades K-5. There will be a limit of 30 registrants. The waiting list is longer than that. We will learn opening, middle game and endgame strategies. New and inexperienced students are welcome. All students will earn points for participation an achievement in chess club and will win PRIZES!! Come join us and make new friends and enjoy old ones!!

Dates of the 4 quarters of Chess club 2025-26 are:

• Q1: Nov 6,13,20; Dec 4,11,18; Jan 8

• Q2: Jan 15,22,29; Feb 5,12,19;

• Q3: Feb26 ; March 5,12,19,26; Apr 9

• Q4: Apr,16,23,30; May 7,14,21(The Pizza Party!!)

The cost of the club is $110 per student per quarter. You may pay for Quarter 1 or Multiple Quarters at www.mnwestchess.com. There is a discount for signing up for multiple Quarters (see below). All equipment, and an after school snack are provided. Note that registration fees are non-refundable.
